Space to learn and grow.

Child-Care Problem

According to the 2021 Jefferson County Child Care Needs Assessment by Jefferson Healthcare. “Seventy-three percent (73%) of parents in Jefferson County find it hard or difficult to find child care and one-third reported reducing their work hours to attend to child care issues.”

The solution

Faced with these challenges, we teamed together – as parents, entrepreneurs, and caring adults – to form the Heartberry Cooperative Playschool (Heartberries), a pod model of child care and community-based solution.

Our Spaces

The above renderings are of the future classroom building that can be rented by Heartberry PS members. This provides the space for pods to operate up to four 4-hour sessions per day (two in the morning, two in the afternoon). The greenhouses provide additional space for learning.

Through generous local investment by the Port Townsend Preservation Alliance, the classrooms are undergoing construction.

Trinity Church

The Trinity Church in Uptown Port Townsend is a great location for younger pods.

There is indoor classroom space as well as outdoor play opportunities.

As a parent, why not be a part of fostering your child’s learning and growth.
