Hugging Tree Legacy is thrilled to have helped Mark Jacobs receive a Local Food System Infrastructure grant which helped him purchase a refrigerated van. Jacobs is a fifth-generation farmer from Guyana. He has farmed in the US, Guyana, and Haiti. A US Army veteran, he is passionate about other veterans taking on the role of farmers. Mark plans to start a farmer training program at Shy Acre in Port Townsend, to strengthen the resilient farm he runs, and is intentional about supporting the local food system.
